Open Access Policy

Högre utbildning is published under the open access model and is therefore free for anybody to read and download, and to copy and disseminate. Articles will be published immediately the final corrections of the master proof have been made. When posted online, articles will be assigned a DOI number (Digital Object Identifier) whereby it becomes possible to search and cite them without delay.

Authors retain the copyright of their article but agree to publish their articles under the terms of the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 License.

Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their articles, after publication, to personal and/or institutional websites and to archive their articles in institutional or funder repositories to insure even greater public access. Supplementary material should also be included when applicable.

Preprint Policy

Preprint refers to a version of an article before it has been sent to an academic journal for peer review.

Högre utbildning permits authors to publish a preprint version of their article in a separate preprint database on the condition that the following requirements are fulfilled:

  • The author(s) retain(s) copyright over the preprint version and any further developments to the text, as well as the right to submit the article to the journal.
  • The author(s) specify(ies) that there is a preprint version of the article in existence when the article is submitted to Högre utbildning. This should be stipulated on the title page with a DOI number and a link to the preprint.
  • The author(s) accept(s) that the journal cannot guarantee the anonymity of the author(s) during peer review, even if the submission is anonymised.
  • If the article is accepted and published, the author(s) undertake(s) to update information related to the preprint version so that it is clear that the final version of the article has been published in Högre utbildning with a direct link (DOI) to the published version.
