Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The stated author is responsible for ensuring and declaring that he or she is the true author of the text. A contribution may have one or more authors and the person submitting a manuscript is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors meet the requirements for co-authorship. See Authorship.
  • The submission have not been published previously, unless the writer has met the requirements for republication. See Republication policy.
  • Author/s have studied the advice for authors. A colleague has reviewed the manuscript.
  • Content and scope comply with the guidelines of the journal. See Author guidelines.
  • The manuscript is submitted in Word format (.doc, .docx, or .rtf). The text is double-spaced, 12-point font, using italics instead of bold or underlined text (apart from URLs).
  • Images and figures are provided with image or figure texts and placed in the running text instead of at the end.
  • References in the manuscript follow the APA 7 style guide in both the running text and reference list (see https://apastyle.apa.org/).
  • The submitted manuscript is anonymised. See Ensuring a blind review.
  • A title page and cover letter should be uploaded as a separate document. See instructions.
  • Any interests that might impair the credibility of the manuscript are disclosed in the cover letter to the Editor.
  • The author submitting a manuscript is the primary contact person for all editorial correspondence throughout the entire process for peer reviews and language editing processes.
  • If submitting a research article, I, the submitting author, confirm that the research meets ethical guidelines, including adherence to the legal requirements of the study country. I confirm that all necessary consents and approvals have been obtained, and that the research and publication has been approved by the relevant ethics committee/review board where this is required.

Author Guidelines

The content and scope must comply with the guidelines of the journal (see also Article types).

An author who submits a manuscript continues to fully own and be responsible for the text until the contribution is published. This means that until acceptance for publication the author can withdraw their manuscript, accept or refuse suggested revisions, and propose their own revisions. Once the manuscript has been accepted by the editors for publication, the author no longer has an unconditional right to demand revisions, and eventual requests from the author will be treated on a case-by-case basis.
